Tuition
Tuition is based on a 12-month season with a guaranteed minimum of 46 lessons per year. The annual tuition is split into 12 equal monthly payments, regardless of the number of classes in a given month. So whether a month has two or five classes, the amount you pay remains the same. Due to the yearly calendar, some classes may include one or two extra lessons beyond the 46 guaranteed, and there’s no additional charge for them.
- Tuition is automatically charged to your credit or debit card on the 1st of each month.
- You may add classes at any time; your tuition will adjust accordingly.
- Performances participation requires active membership and enrollment. Annual Show Performance Registration is auto-charged on January 15 for students enrolled before January 1, or one month after enrollment for those who enroll after January 1.
*A small annual tuition increase takes effect every July 1st, based on Seattle’s Consumer Price Index (CPI), to help offset inflation.
Tuition Rates (45/60-minute classes)
- 1 class per week = $110 per month
- 2 classes per week = $198 per month
- 3 classes per week = $285 per month
- 4 classes per week = $373 per month
- 5 classes per week = $460 per month
- 6 classes per week = $508 per month
Combo Classes (90 minutes)
Back-to-back 45-minute classes on the same day:
- 1 combo class per week = $183 per month
- 2 combo classes per week = $333 per month
Recommended Class Frequency
Ages 3–4: 2 classes/week | Ages 5–7: 2–3 classes/week | Ages 8+: 3–5 classes/week
Class Uniform
All dancers are required to wear a designated class uniform to every class and on stage during the Winter Showcase. Some required pieces include the LaVida logo; others do not. Full class uniform must be purchased at the studio.
- Uniforms are always in stock at the studio. A staff member will assist with proper sizing and fitting at the front desk.
- Students may attend one class without a uniform. Your child is still welcome to participate while waiting for a backordered size.
- Trial students may borrow uniform dance shoes for their trial class, based on availability.
Important: To maintain safety and floor quality, street shoes, jeans, or clothing with profanity or revealing cuts are not allowed on the dance floor. Dancers in street shoes will be asked to remove them and dance barefoot.
If you have more questions, please see FAQ.

Annual Performances
We hold two main on-stage shows:
- Winter Showcase – February (included with membership)
- Annual Recital and Production – June (separate registration required)
We are so proud of our dancers’ performances in past productions like Trolls Story, Mermaid, Aladdin, and Snow Queen. Each year, we bring a new story to life on stage through the art of dance. It’s an exciting experience for everyone! Learn more here.
Why Performing Matters
At LaVida, performance is a key part of the learning journey, just like games in a sports season. It’s the moment when dancers bring their hard work to life on stage, celebrating their progress with peers, teachers, and family.
All students love performing and look forward to joining their dance friends under the lights. More than just a show, it’s a powerful tool for growth. Studies show that setting an annual performance goal significantly boosts focus, motivation, and commitment in young learners.
Through performance, dancers develop essential life skills that go far beyond the studio:
- Confidence and resilience
- Teamwork and shared accomplishment
- Joy in celebrating progress with family and friends
These on-stage moments are more than memories, they’re stepping stones in your child’s development. At LaVida, we don’t just teach dance. We teach life skils through performance.

To participate in performances, your dancer must be a currently enrolled member in good standing.

Make-up Policy
We understand that students may occasionally miss class due to illness, travel, or schedule conflicts. To support consistent training, we offer free make up classes that can be scheduled at your convenience.
- Make-up classes must be completed within two months of the missed class.
- An additional Make-up Week is offered after the Annual Production/Recital (typically the third week of June) to accommodate any remaining missed or canceled classes.
- Make-ups are available only to current members. Students who have unenrolled or are on a pause membership are not eligible.
- No credits or refunds are given for missed classes.
- Students may attend any dance style class within or below their age range or level for a make-up.
- All make-up classes must be approved and scheduled at least 24 hours in advance.
- Classes are subject to capacity limits; full classes are not open for make-ups.
- For students ages 6 and up, make-ups are not available during one month leading up to the Annual Production.
Suspension
Members may pause their tuition for one month, once per 12-month period.
- During the pause, membership is placed on hold, tuition is not charged, and the dancer's class spot is reserved.
- Pause requests must be submitted via email to [email protected] by the 15th of the month prior to the intended pause.
- Enrollment and billing automatically resume on the 1st of the following month.
- No class attendance or make-ups are permitted during the paused month.
- Pauses are not allowed during the recital/show months.
Inclement Weather & Unforeseen Closures
LaVida Studio follows the Lake Washington School District for inclement weather. If schools are closed, the studio will also close unless stated otherwise.
If a closure causes your class total to fall below the 44 guaranteed annual lessons, we will do our best to schedule a make-up. We also offer a free make-up week in mid-June to help cover weather-related or emergency cancellations.
Students may attend a suitable class to make up missed sessions.
- Make-ups are available until May 1 and after the Annual Show, as May is reserved for rehearsals.
- Membership is not refunded or prorated due to weather or emergency closures.
Lockdown/Emergency Policy
If the studio is required to close due to a federal, state, county, or city mandate, all classes will shift to live-stream via Zoom. A link will be sent to each class. Membership policies and billing continue as usual during this time, no exceptions.
Thank you for your cooperation. Please, let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
We are so happy to have you as part of the LaVida Family!
