ABOUT THE SHOW

Dear students and parents,
We are excited to announce that our Winter Showcase will take place on February 4th, 2024!

WHERE: Northshore Performing Arts Center, 18125 92nd Ave NE, Bothell, WA 98011

Invite friends via Facebook event here: Winter Showcase

SHOW MISSION: to unite, inspire and create unforgettable memories for performers and audience alike.

PARTICIPANTS: All students ages 2 to adults. Each class will prepare a dance number inspired by the winter holidays! Participation in the show is expected, highly encouraged and optional.
This is an excellent opportunity for your child to work towards and be a part of a performance on a professional stage and in all studio community celebrations, creating more happy memories for all of us to cherish for life!

What is the LaVida Showcase?
- We aim to provide numerous opportunities for dancers to showcase their talents on stage. After a hiatus since 2019, we are excited to reintroduce our Winter Showcase, which will be held at the Northshore Performing Arts Center theater, offering ample seating for both the audience and performers.

- It is a professional production complete with lighting, sound, and theatrical stage. We love giving students a lesson in theatre etiquette and what it takes to produce a show. An audience gives great feedback on every show, and students love performing for family and friends!

- We strive to always align with the show mission of uniting, inspiring, and creating lasting memories. Even during the lockdown when theaters were shut down, we went above and beyond by producing a FULL-LENGTH dance movie. The Jungle Book Dance Movie is available to watch on-demand THE JUNGLE BOOK

We are COMMITTED to fulfill our promise – to unite, create unforgettable memories and inspire people to DANCE!

FAQs

The participation in the show is expected and highly encouraged, but it is optional. Children who participate tend to keep their interest in dance longer and have stronger motivation to do well in their dance classes. Classes have began learning choreography for the show in November/December during a portion of their class.

If you decided not to participate, you would have submitted the Opt-out Form by November 10th and your card would not have been charged and costume accessories will not be ordered. Students who do not participate in the show can still participate fully in the class and will perform for their parents in class during Observation Week on February 12th-17th (without costumes).

There will be no separate Picture Day for the Winter Showcase, only onstage photos of the dancers performances. All pictures taken from each Winter Showcase will be provided.

There will be a Picture Day as a part of the Annual Show. All dancers participating in the Annual Show will have a routine group photo taken in costume and ALL DANCERS will have a class photo taken (in uniform if Opting-out of Annual Show)

  • Picture Day for Production Only: Sunday, June 2nd at LaVida Studio
  • Picture Week: During classes,  June 3rd - 8th at LaVida Studio

Please, watch your emails for more information closer to the date.

No, we want the Winter Showcase to be fun and simple for you all so there will be no required rehearsals outside of regular class time practice.

Certain routines involve combining multiple classes of the same style/age for a unified performance. As the show date approaches, dancers will have the opportunity to attend the other class time of their routine for additional practice (for combined classes only).
